If you’ve always dreamed about exploring the ocean, this experience is for you!

Our SSI Open Water Diver Course is the perfect introduction to the underwater world, combining theory, pool practice and real open water dives in a safe and comfortable environment.

Designed for beginners, the course will teach you everything you need to become an internationally certified scuba diver. Throughout the experience, you’ll develop essential diving skills, gain confidence underwater and discover an entirely new world beneath the surface.

As a certified diver, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Explore shipwrecks and underwater formations
• Discover unique marine ecosystems
• Experience the feeling of weightlessness underwater
• Dive around the world with an internationally recognized certification

HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?

The course is divided into 3 main modules:

1) Theory Sessions — 8 to 10 hours total

Online or in-person classes designed to teach the fundamentals of scuba diving, including:
• Diving physics and physiology
• Equipment use and maintenance
• Underwater communication
• Safety procedures and dive planning
• Marine life and environmental awareness

You’ll also learn how to feel comfortable underwater while understanding the importance of ocean conservation.

2) Pool Training Sessions — 6 to 8 hours total

During the pool sessions, you’ll practice all the essential scuba diving skills in a controlled and safe environment.

You’ll learn:
• Buoyancy control
• Breathing techniques
• Mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Underwater movement and positioning
• Emergency and safety procedures

These sessions are designed to build confidence and prepare you for real ocean dives.

3) Open Water Dives — 4 Ocean Dives

The final stage of the course takes place in open water with 4 supervised dives in the ocean.

During these dives, you’ll apply everything learned throughout the course while gradually becoming more comfortable underwater.

Note: Open water dive trips are held in Angra dos Reis. For other diving destinations, arrangements must be made in advance with the dive center.

After successfully completing all modules, you’ll receive your internationally recognized SSI Open Water Diver Certification, allowing you to dive up to 18 meters (60 ft) anywhere in the world without professional supervision.
